Christies Beach

Smithbridge Australia was a 50% JV partner for this sub-marine outfall project. It involved an 800m long 1200mm diameter sewer outfall pipeline, concrete lined and concrete encased, and site jointed from 12m lengths. It was installed by the bottom pull method, and air filled at almost neutral buoyancy. The trench was shored using AZ18 sheet piles – both side for 50% of the total wall length – 800 metres of wall. Smithbridge was responsible for all marine works including the temporary access wharf, the sheet piling, the trench excavation, the pipe installation and the backfilling.
