Kwinana Outfall Pipeline

Smithbridge were engaged as Main Contractor for the installation of a 1.8m ID concrete outfall pipeline extending 320m into Cockburn Sound, near Perth.

Woody Point, Redcliff

Construction was facilitated over the extensive tidal zone by an “over the top” method featuring a 12m cantile vered frame to support the service crane and provide access and support to the leading end.

Christies Beach

Smithbridge Australia was a 50% JV partner for this sub-marine outfall project. It involved an 800m long 1200mm diameter sewer outfall pipeline, concrete lined and concrete encased, and site jointed from 12m lengths. It was installed by the bottom pull method, and air filled at almost neutral buoyancy. The trench was shored using AZ18 sheet piles – both side for 50% of the total wall length – 800 metres of wall. Smithbridge was responsible for all marine works including the temporary access wharf, the sheet piling, the trench excavation, the pipe installation and the backfilling.

Port of Brisbane General Purpose Wharf

Construction of a 300m long, 24m wide cast-in-place concrete wharf supported on driven steel tube piles up to 45m in length, 1200mm diameter and including access bridges to shore, berthing and mooring dolphins, services, fenders, and wharf furniture.
